University, Budapest and at the Media Research Centre, Budapest University
of Technology. |

His
research interest is 20th-21st century Hungarian art
history � especially the waves of the avantgarde movement -, theory and
practice of contemporary art, and the cultural context of new media. He is
the author of 12 books and hundreds of journal articles. |
|
From the beginning of the nineties he has been the initiator of and
consultant for various projects concerning media (e.g. Wolfson College
Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy;
National
Digital Data Archives of Hungary;
the Hungarian version of Université de tous les savoirs). He is the
founder of a number of institutions and programmes (e.g. the Media Centre
and MA programme in Communication Studies at ELTE, the Media Research
Centre at BME). |

He has been invited to many universities and other scholarly institutions
� e.g. New School for Social Research, New York City; New York University;
Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Ljubljana. |

He is
the member of the Hungarian Society for Philosophy, the International
Press Institute, The Slovenian Society for Aesthetics and the American
Society for Aesthetics. |
